You are all part of the Fordell group on the Henderson DNA project. I recen= tly used new tools released by FTDNA to analyse the data for those of you w= ho have done the BigY 700 test. Fordell Henderson=E2=80=99s DNA = information

The information on the relations= hips in the Henderson DNA group R-H1 are developed using the tools at disco= ver.familytreedna.com

The members of this group all ha= ve the R-FT212458 mutation that is estimated to have occurred around 1600 C= E. Sir John Henderson 5th of Fordell was born in 1605, so this mutation cou= ld be his or his father or son. This would mean that other Fordell Henderso= n descended from earlier men in the line might not carry this and may not h= ave been correctly identified at this time with the earlier Fordell Henders= ons. There is an uncertainty of 200 years in this dating, so it is possible= the mutation occurred as early as 1354. This would place the mutation with= the grandfather or great grandfather of Robert Henderson b. 1430. In that = case, it would include all of the identifiable historical Henderson line fr= om Fordell
The mutation BY54923 is the earl= ier one in this line and would have occurred around 1300. We have not yet i= dentified anyone with this mutation who is not in the Fordell group, but we= should be on the lookout for this mutation in DNA groups closely related t= o the Fordell line.
The next mutation in this line i= s R-FTA84091 which is carried by the current Clan Chief. This mutation is d= ated to 1700 CE plus or minus 150 years. If the mutation occurred around 17= 00, this would need to be among his known ancestors. All the other men in t= he group with mutation would have this common ancestor.
The final mutation R-FTA83393 is= dated around 1800 plus or minus 150 years. These men share the same common= ancestor as the Clan Chief. The people with this mutation would be related= to brothers of men in the line to the Clan Chief. The date is recent enoug= h that a bit of research should identify possible common ancestors
