Hi Bryan,

I have some good news for you. Your 67 marker test has paid off big time. I=
ran a TIP analysis against your match to Billy J Henderson and discovered =
you belong in Family R-H1. This is the best of all family groups since it i=
s the group that we believe is part of the Fordell line. The analysis shows=
that there is a better than 90% chance that you share a common ancestor wi=
th this group in the past 16 generations. So you are now grouped with the C=
lan Chief Alistair. Congratulations.

David

Hello, David.

I got your email about your work on the Henderson haplotree. It's very int=
eresting and I am most grateful for all the work you've put into this.

You encouraged us to upgrade to 67 markers so you can include us in the pro=
cess, so I did so. I don't know if you get notified of that automatically,=
so I'm telling you now. My kit number is 117585.

By the way, I struggle to understand how all this genetics works and Family=
Tree DNA doesn't seem to provide much help in interpreting results (It's a=
lot better for the Y DNA products than the autosomal DNA, at least). But =
you obviously have a good grasp on it. I wonder if you can explain somethi=
ng for me.

FTDNA shows me 4 matches at the 67-marker level, 1 at distance 6 and 3 at d=
istance 7. But when I select 37-markers, it tells me I have zero matches.
Wouldn't all 4 of those 67-marker matches also be 37-marker matches of dist=
ance at most 7? As far as I can see, "match" means distance 7 or less.

It does show 3 of those persons as 25-marker matches of distance 2.

Thanks for letting me know about Bryan. I have changed his family to R-H1.

There is someone by that name in Geni already, Bryan Douglas Henderson.

You might like to ask Bryan to look at his profile a Geni
https://www.geni.com/people/Bryan-Henderson/6000000034897268937
to see if the tree there matches his relatives.

This Bryan Henderson's line doesn't extend beyond his father:
https://www.geni.com/people/John-Henderson/6000000034896982032

We have three people with that name (John Russell Henderson), in the Ancestry trees
A5995
B1638
E1667

It would be nice if we could build his line further back.
Jim
